Model Plan 02Okutama Plan
For 3 days enjoy nature walks, meals, and hot springs
This plan is to visit the highlights of Okutama in 2 nights and 3 days.
On the first day, you will walk out from Okutama Station via the Okutama Mukashimichi Road to Ogouchi Dam, taking about 4 hours on the 10km Okutama Mukashimichi hiking course. Lunch is taken at the Okutama Water and Greenery Contact Center, which was opened next to the Ogouchi Dam. Then you will travel to the Tokyo Metropolitan Okutama Kohan Park Yama no Furusato Village and check in at the Log Cabin Site. Next is B.B.Q for dinner and the first night’s stay.
On the second day, you can experience a wood craft session and will then make soba noodles at Yama no Furusato Village and have lunch at Yamasemi Restaurant inside the facility. In the afternoon, you will visit the Nippara Shonyudo Limestone Cave, which is said to be the last unexplored region of Tama. Then will come a stay at Hatonosu-so for the second night.
On the third day, you can enjoy fishing at the Hikawa International Fishing Spot in the morning. After that, you be able to take a bath at Moegi no Yu, a hot spring near Okutama Station, and finally have lunch at the restaurant there.

This section of the former Ome Kaido Highway, which evolved as a trade route in the Edo period, has been developed as a hiking course. The changing scenery around the villages, mountains, the Traveler’s Guardian Deity, and the traces of abandoned railway lines and suspension bridges are very attractive.
Located at an altitude of 530m, this dam is dedicated to maintaining a water supply derived from the largest reservoir of water in Japan. Since it was completed in 1957 after 19 years of construction it has played an important role as a unique water source within Tokyo.
In addition to the history, culture, and nature of Okutama-machi Town, the structure of the dam and the importance of water are introduced in a 3D theater and diorama in exhibits that both adults and children can enjoy.
Located in Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park, there is a natural park where you can experience various things such as camping, trails for walking, and craft facilities. The restaurant Yamasemi is located here as well.
This is the largest limestone cave in the Kanto region, located in Okutama-machi, on the western edge of Tokyo. A limestone cave is a natural sculpture created by flowing water over long period of time. The inside of the cave stays at 11℃ throughout the year, keeping it is cool in summer and warm in winter.
Hatonosu-so was opened in 2015, and all rooms face the Hatonosu-keikoku Valley. There are Japanese-Western-style rooms, Western-style rooms and barrier-free rooms as well.
Located within a six minute walk from Okutama Station, this area is characterized by being "near, spacious, and safe", so everyone from children to the elderly can enjoy fishing safely and is located at the furthest downstream end of the Nipparagawa River, where the Nippara Shonyudo Limestone Cave is particularly popular for those in Okutama-machi Town.
A 10-minute walk from JR Okutama Station, this hot spring gushes out from within the deep underground Paleozoic strata, said to be the oldest stratum in Japan. This hot spring in Okutama is said to be 100% pure spring water. There is also a restaurant at the same location.
